Uploading Prescription Files to the Case IH Pro 1200
Overview
The Case IH AFS Pro 1200 Display is a high-performance precision farming terminal that enables variable rate application through prescription files. This guide details the process of importing prescription shapefiles from a USB drive, assigning them to the appropriate field, and configuring the correct application rates to ensure accurate in-field performance.
What You'll Need
- Case IH AFS Pro 1200 Display
- USB memory device (Case IH recommended part numbers 47962967 or 90484784)
- Prescription files in Shapefile format (.shp, .shx, and .dbf)
- Established Grower, Farm, and Field (GFF) structure on the display
Step-by-Step
Prepare the USB Drive
Create a folder on the root of your USB transfer device titled 'SHAPEFILE'. Place all associated prescription files (.shp, .shx, and .dbf) into this folder. Ensure all three components are present for each prescription to avoid import errors.
Insert and Navigate to Data
Insert the prepared USB into the Pro 1200 monitor. Navigate to the main menu by selecting the 'Menu' button, then tap the 'Data' card, and finally select the 'Import' tab on the right side of the screen.
Select Source and File
Press 'Select Import Source' and choose the USB drive. Navigate to the 'SHAPEFILE' folder, select the desired prescription file, and tap 'Import Selected'. Define the data type as 'Prescription' once the file name populates the screen.
Configure Prescription Details
Assign the prescription to the correct Grower, Farm, and Field. Confirm the 'Prescription Form' (e.g., Seed or Liquid) and the 'Attribute' (e.g., TRT_RATE). Verify the application units (e.g., sds/acre, ksds/acre, or lbs/acre) to ensure they match your intended rate.
Finalize Import
Select 'Import' to bring the file into the display's internal memory. A green checkmark or confirmation message will appear once the import is complete.
Assign Prescription to the Field
Navigate to the 'Operations' menu from the top bar. Select the correct GFF, scroll down to the 'Product Assignment' field, and tap the 'Prescription' (Rx) window. Choose the recently imported prescription from the list.
Verify on the Map
Go to the map screen and select the right arrow on the map layer selection pane. Enable the 'Background' slider and select 'Rx' to visualize the prescription zones on the field map.

Tips & Tricks
It is recommended to enter an 'RX Out of Zone Target' rate to ensure product is still applied if your field boundaries do not perfectly match the prescription area.
Always perform a power cycle or wait for the system to fully initialize after a large data import to ensure all changes are applied.
You can also import prescriptions wirelessly from the AFS Connect Farm Portal if your vehicle is equipped with an active telematics subscription.
