Creating Product Configurations on the Raven Viper 4+

product-setupsetup

Overview

Product configurations on the Raven Viper 4+ allow operators to pre-define application parameters for specific products or tank mixes. This system saves control channel assignments and product details, enabling quick transitions between different field operations without re-entering calibration data. These configurations are linked to specific machine profiles and help ensure accurate reporting and rate execution during the growing season.

What You'll Need

  • Raven Viper 4 or Viper 4+ Display
  • Active Machine Configuration
  • Unlocked Product Control features
  • Connected CANbus or ISOBUS product nodes

Step-by-Step

01

Access the Product Panel

From the main home screen, locate and touch the Product Configuration panel. This is typically found in the upper-middle section of the display interface.

02

Start a New Configuration

Touch the Add button located along the left side of the panel to initiate the creation of a new product profile.

03

Name the Profile

Use the on-screen keyboard to enter a descriptive name for the configuration, such as a specific chemical mix or seed variety. Touch the green check mark or Done to continue.

04

Select the Control Channel

The product setup screen will display available channels based on your machine configuration. Select a channel indicator from the left side of the screen to begin assigning product data.

05

Assign Product or Mix Name

Touch the Mix Name field. You can select a previously configured mix from the drop-down menu or enter a new name. This label will appear on your run screen widgets during operation.

06

Define Carrier and Volume

For liquid applications, select the Carrier product and enter the Carrier Volume. Use the Tank Manager button to set the current volume or weight of the product available in the tank or bin.

07

Add Ingredients

Touch the Add button at the bottom of the prompt to include specific ingredients in the mix. You can select these from the Favorite Products list or the broader reference database.

08

Finalize and Verify

Review the channel assignments and mix ratios. Once satisfied, exit the setup to save the configuration. It will now be available for selection when starting a new job with that specific machine profile.

Tips & Tricks

💡

Utilize the built-in agX product database to ensure standardized naming and reporting across your entire operation.

💡

Use the Rate Calculator tool within the mix setup to help determine appropriate ratios for multi-ingredient tank mixes.

💡

For granular applications, set a Zero Rate Tolerance to prevent false coverage mapping caused by sensor chatter when the equipment is bouncing but not applying.

💡

If you frequently use the same mix, it will automatically appear in your Favorite Products list for faster setup in future configurations.
